Our friends over at Absolutepunk.net are celebrating “National Coheed Day” which includes the release of a recent interview they did with Claudio, here is a snippet:
Who came up with the Neverender idea?
Neverender has been an idea that we’ve always had since the creation of the band. We figured that sometime we would perform all of the records in order from beginning to end. At first, we thought it might be sort of premature because the concept hasn’t been completed. Without the prequel album, the story wasn’t complete. We wanted to hold off but then it started to make sense because it would help us create a prequel album if we revisited all the material and see how it would influence the next record. It was something the band and management thought about doing.
Rumors have been going around about you guys filming for a DVD, is it true? And for what show?
Right now, we are planning to record the New York shows.
Are there any songs you guys didn’t want to play because you guys grew out of it? Maybe something for Second Stage or In Keeping Secrets?
You know, not really but I can see that is something that could have occurred doing something like this. It’s been a long time since we played some of the songs and for myself, I was kind of anxious. I thought it would be fun and refreshing playing the old songs again.

Taken from MySpace:
Alright, since you’ve all been so patient with this project, I’ve decided to give you all a special treat for your dedication. Unfortunately, there are no immediate plans for Inferno. Please know that we are staying creative and hope to have something for you soon, but don’t hold your breath just yet. Anyway, this is a tune I wrote several years ago that didn’t make the “Blood Machine” cut, but listening to it now makes me wonder why I decided that. I think it’s the sample at the beginning, which was taken on my first trip to Paris, where and when the initial concept for Co & Ca was created. I thought you’d all get a kick out of that little bit of trivia. I needed to know some french so I could get around (although I don’t know how learning to say,”I have a venereal diease” was going to help me buy a panini from the corner shop.) Hopefully new surroundings will birth new songs as well, but I hope this song helps you get by while we work on the next one.

Howdy Cobalt!
I have some great news to share: I will be conducting an interview with Claudio here in Calgary, Canada as the band gets underway on their Spring tour with Baroness!!
I want to make sure that we ask some quality questions, ones that you might not typically see in a regular interview. So please feel free to leave your questions in this thread! Be sure that your questions are clear and to the point. We should avoid asking things that we already have answers to or pointless topics so that I can bring back the most useful information possible. Please keep in mind that I will not have time to ask all questions that may get posted here and only certain ones will be selected. I will not accept questions by private message or by email, please just post them in this thread.
The interview will be taking place in my home city of Calgary on Saturday May 24th. I will be recording video of the interview and will post it shortly after the concert.
If anyone is going to the Calgary show, please let me know, it would be great to see fellow forum members!
Thanks,
Matt

Hey everyone. Our number one goal is to provide all of you guys every god damn piece of material on one of the greatest bands in the world: Coheed And Cambria.
Our lyrics section will not only include every song released by Coheed And Cambria, but every song released by Claudio Sanchez, Travis Stever, Michael Todd, and Joshua Eppard from their side bands.
Our media section will feature some mp3’s that we are legally allowed to put up. Expect to see some live concert sets, and other rare songs. We will also have AIM Icons, and Wallpaper. Our artist here at Cobalt And Calcium (Mitch), will be contributing some material that will be up available for you in the near future. If you would like to submit some artwork you’ve done; e-mail the staff.
The pictures section was added. Thanks to Maggie, we now have 13 new images of the concert she attended back in ‘03.
